Privacy Policy

SopMPlayer (the “app”) is an iOS music player by Sop the Drone. This policy describes how the app handles user data.

1. Data collection

The app does not collect, transmit, or sell users' personal data. We do not use analytics, advertising, profiling, or third-party tracking SDKs.

2. Data stored on your device

On your iPhone or iPad, the app may store locally:

  • music library metadata (titles, artists, artwork),
  • playlists and favourite tracks,
  • app settings (theme, cache limits, equalizer),
  • optional audio cache files (only if you enable offline cache).

This data stays on your device and is not sent to us or third parties for marketing purposes.

3. iCloud

If you use iCloud Drive, the app reads music files from your iCloud account according to iOS system permissions. We do not have access to your Apple ID or passwords. Files remain under the control of Apple and the user.

4. File sharing

The Share extension imports audio files you select in other apps. Import happens locally on your device.

5. Internet radio & network

The internet radio feature connects to public radio station servers to play audio streams. The app may send standard HTTP requests with an app identifier (User-Agent) required by API providers. We do not transmit users' personal data.

6. Album artwork (MusicBrainz)

Optionally, the app may look up metadata and cover art in the public MusicBrainz and Cover Art Archive databases based on track title and artist. Only track information is sent — not personal user data.

7. Tracking

The app does not track users under App Tracking Transparency (ATT). We do not link data to user identity or third-party data for advertising purposes.

8. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 in the sense of knowingly collecting data — because we do not collect any personal data.

9. Policy changes

We may update this policy. The last updated date will appear at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means acceptance of the updated policy.
